Name Servers are machines that perform mapping your domain name to hosting server IP address. When you rent hosting space on a server, hosting company gives you name servers. For example my Name servers looked like that:
Login to godaddy.com or other registrar where you registered your domain name and change existing nameservers to that provided by your hosting company. I will show you screen shots for godaddy.com
After login to godaddy.com select Domains and then My Domains option.
A list of domain you have is displayed. Double click the domain for which you want to change name servers.
A tab for managing a domain is displayed. Double click Nameservers icon. A tab for setting name servers is displayed.
Delete existing name servers and type name servers that were provided to you by your hosting company. In our case delete NS43.DOMAINCONTROL.COM and NS44.DOMAINCONTROL.COM and type
Click OK button. Next day try to find your web site or default page of your hosting place if you did not uploaded your web site yet. Open a browser and type www.yourdomain.com Default page or your web site page is displayed. Usually it takes one, two days to propagate DNS Name servers.
We are done with registration and setting domain name. Next step is web site hosting.
If you sign for hosting through one of 4 links on my site I placed below I will send you free PHP authentication templates the same as I use on this my website.
Do you want your web site allowed users to register and login with password to certain pages? I created a set of PHP files to enable any web site with authentication. You do not have to know PHP to use my templates. Just create MySQL database and usernames table. It is easier than you think. Instruction on how to create database is included. SQL script for creating table is included. Upload my PHP files on your web site in root directory and it will work instantly.
